While health insurance plans may cover certain Speech Therapy services, Story Speech & Voice does not bill insurance directly. Insurance companies often restrict the number or type of sessions covered each year. At Story Speech & Voice, therapy plans are guided by the unique needs of each client, not by insurance limitations.
Per request, we are able to provide superbills which are detailed invoices that include all the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
We operate through a HIPAA-compliant electronic health record (EHR) and practice management software, SimplePractice, on a private pay basis only.
***Please note that while we provide the superbill, we cannot guarantee reimbursement and do not handle any direct communication with your insurance company. For further details on obtaining a superbill, please contact us.***

American English Accent Coaching is considered an elective, non-clinical service designed to enhance clarity, confidence, and effectiveness in spoken English. Because it is not a medical or therapeutic service and does not involve the diagnosis or treatment of a communication disorder, it cannot be billed to insurance. All coaching sessions are private-pay and provided directly to clients.
-
The duration of participation in accent coaching varies based on your individual goals, current communication patterns, and the recommendations made following your initial consultation and/or evaluation. Session frequency and length may be adjusted over time to reflect your ongoing progress and evolving goals. Each program is personalized to ensure it aligns with your communication needs and desired outcomes.

American English Accent Coaching at Story Speech & Voice is a non-clinical, elective communication service designed to enhance clarity, confidence, and ease of communication in American English for personal or professional purposes. It focuses on speech sound production, rhythm, and intonation patterns to support effective and natural communication.
Accent coaching is not a medical or therapeutic service, does not involve diagnosis or treatment of speech, language, or swallowing disorders, and, at Story Speech & Voice, is not provided under speech-language pathology licensure.
By contrast, speech therapy is a clinical service provided by a licensed speech-language pathologist (SLP) for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, communication, or swallowing disorders. These services are clinical in nature and are offered on a private-pay basis at Story Speech & Voice.

An accent is the unique way someone pronounces words, shaped by their linguistic background, native language, and life experiences. Everyone speaks with an accent! Itβs a natural part of language and identity. Accents are not speech disorders; they simply reflect differences in pronunciation, rhythm, and intonation. Accent coaching focuses on helping individuals adjust or refine certain aspects of their speech to improve clarity and confidence in communication, while still maintaining their individuality and cultural identity.

Unlike general English classes that focus heavily on grammar, vocabulary, and writing, American English Accent Coaching at Story Speech & Voice is centered on the spoken aspects of communication. Sessions are one-on-one and personalized to your goals, communication style, and personal/professional needs.
While we may address grammar and vocabulary as they relate to natural, clear, and confident speech, this program draws on evidence-based principles from the field of speech-language pathology to refine pronunciation, rhythm, and intonation. It is a non-clinical, elective service designed to enhance communication skills, not a medical or therapeutic service provided under speech-language pathology licensure.
